Milestones

We are concerned that the Government and NHS have expanded the PA role beyond its intended scope. While PAs may be able to assist Doctors within clearly defined and limited roles, we are worried their involvement in diagnosing and treating patients could be unsafe.

We are concerned that healthcare is compromising on standards of care. We want to ensure that individuals without a doctor's degree are not allowed to perform interventions beyond their training. As a patient, I do not want my family members or friends seeing a PA instead of a GP or Doctor and I do not want a PA to try and diagnose me, or perform complex procedures. I want to be treated by a fully qualified doctor who has undergone rigorous and extensive training.
