We believe the government should implement measures to protect people from discrimination based on neurodiversity. This could be attained by introducing Neurodiversity as a protected characteristic in the Equality Act.
I think neurodivergent people face discrimination daily in their work environment and beyond. This discrimination can be based on their ability to cope with societal norms as well as meet standards without often having adjustments set in place. In order to protect those who are also undiagnosed or waiting to be diagnosed, I think that the Government should take action and introduce Neurodiversity as protected characteristic in the Equality Act.
