Milestones—
We would like the Government to increase the maximum weight of Light Goods Vehicles from 3500kg to 3750kg, as we think the regulations around weight limits were set decades ago, vehicles produced nowadays are safer and average curb weights have increased.
We believe that increasing the maximum weight limit for Light Goods Vehicles to 3750kg could benefit businesses by reducing costs and red tape. We also believe that it would lead to more vehicles coming under the Light Goods Vehicle category, which could lead to more vehicle sales and cleaner commercial vehicles on the road.
