Current prices for public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations can be triple the cost of domestic electricity. This would make the cost per mile for many EV's higher than the diesel/petrol equivalent vehicle. The Government should set a maximum charge for public EV charging stations.
We believe that the high price of electricity from EV charging stations will impact the conversion to electric from diesel or petrol. Simple caps could therefore help ensure that people looking to invest in changing from fossil fuels to electric vehicles can justify the expense.
