Milestones—
I’d like to propose that the Government allow employees to deduct essential living expenses—such as rent/mortgage, utility bills, food, council tax and childcare—from their income before it is subject to tax.
I believe this change could bring about several key benefits 1) Increase in disposable income. 2) Reduction in financial stress 3) Fairer taxation system. I believe that the tax system has loopholes for the rich and some large companies do not pay a fair amount of tax. I also think that a large percentage of tax is wasted, and it is therefore only fair to let people keep more of their income, and funding this could include reducing public services.
