Milestones—
I believe that parents of all 3 year olds should have access to free childcare from the day of the child's 3rd birthday, rather than from the start of the following term. I think otherwise this is discriminatory.
Children do not currently become eligible for free childcare entitlements until the start of the nursery term following their third birthday. This means that some children must wait up to five months before they are eligible. Under this current system, some children can be losing up to five months of early learning and play because of their birth date.
