Milestones

Make legal requirement for households products (detergents, beauty products etc) to display an "environmental impact rating" similar to the existing traffic light system for food- Indicating how harmful the ingredients are for: 1.Toxicity to microbes 2.Time to degrade 3.Carbon footprint

We think there are many popular products that have strong marketing campaigns for things like detergents with scent boosters that have small print of "harmful to aquatic life with lasting effects" but general awareness for environmental impact is low. We believe succeeding in reducing the environmental impact that these consumer products have will need drastic changes to regulations, starting with public awareness. We think the key to effective wider change is freedom to make informed decisions.
