Milestones

Ban the import of products containing Antarctic krill, including supplements, fish food, fish fed with feed containing Antarctic krill, and farmed salmon feed, to stop their use in the UK and to help protect Antarctic wildlife, ecosystems, and the global climate.

Antarctic krill are a cornerstone species, supporting whales, seals, penguins, and the entire Southern Ocean food web. Fishing for krill to make supplements, fish food, and salmon feed robs marine wildlife of an essential food source, destabilizing ecosystems. Research suggests this could halt the recovery of whale species in Antarctica, as their primary food supply is being depleted. Protecting Antarctic krill is vital to preserving this fragile ecosystem and protecting its biodiversity.
