Minors who kill other children may be able to leave prison and live their lives after 12 years, but what about the family of the murdered victim - they can't just start their life again. I believe stricter sentences would be a stronger deterrent.
My brother Rikki Neave was killed at the age of six by a 13yr old who was sentenced to a minimum of1 5 years in prison. We think minors who commit premeditated murder should serve 30 years minimum, we don't get our loved ones back so why do perpetrators get a new life when they come out we can't start a new one we have to live with their actions. The pain never goes away and life doesn't change for us.
