Under the Working Time Directive, day shift workers are allowed to work as many hours as they like if they opt out of the 48 hour week limit. We believe those who work between 11pm and 6am are penalised.

We believe this is important due to the cost of living crisis. We also think it is our right to be treated equally as others employees and should be allowed to make the decision to work as long as we want since we know our own capacity. We believe the WTD is in place to protect those who may not be able to handle more than 48 hours a week and call for this to remain in place, with the option for all workers to opt out.
