Milestones—
We urge the Government to close salary linked public sector pension schemes to new members, as we believe they hark back to when public sector pay was lower than private sector pay and was introduced to retain people in public service.
We believe pay scales are now on parity and it is unjustifiable to maintain this. We believe these schemes are financially unsustainable and a great cost to the British Taxpayer and should therefore be replaced with defined contribution pension schemes in line with the private sector.
