Milestones—
The UK government collected around £830 billion pounds in taxation in 2023/24. Money collected from taxes is spent across numerous government departments to provide services of many kinds for UK citizens. The money collected should be spent as efficiently as possible.
We need to ensure that the finite UK taxation budget is spent as efficiently as possible to ensure there is no waste, that the money spent is spent in areas that provide most value for all citizens. I think there are numerous recent examples of wasted spending. It is our money, the people of the UK. How it's spent should be transparent and available for review in real time.
