Milestones

We want the Government to limit the trauma following inpatient admissions to mental health units. We want to prevent people admitted as inpatients from dying from suicide. We want there to be a mandatory trauma assessment post-discharge from a long-term mental health admission.

This could ensure the correct support is given in the community and prevent readmission and the inability to cope with life following admissions. We also want there to be a mandatory training programme for all mental health unit staff - coproduced with lived experience experts, to ensure that correct care is given and less abuse is experienced. We want to reduce the number of deaths from suicide of people within units and post admission.
