We think that the introduction of a dog licence for owners will reduce irresponsible dog ownership, unscrupulous breeding and create accountability. We think that rescues and the veterinary industry are at breaking point because of dog ownership proliferation.
We think that the requirement of a dog licence could result in a reduction in the demand for dogs as well as the supply of them. We also think that fewer unwanted dogs would enter rescues. We also think that this could reduce the purchase of dogs on a whim and deter the ‘throw away fashion’ crowd.
