We would like the government to make bullying a specific criminal offence. We do not want it to come under harassment and employment laws or other offences.
We want bullying to be against the law in its own right to cover and protect vulnerable people who might not be protected under the current law. We want to protect children who are bullied on a daily basis who end up with mental health issues. We also want to protect adults who are subjected and targeted by other adults but it might not be deemed as against any current laws. Due to the sometimes coercive nature and gaslighting of bullying, I feel there is very little protection for people.
