Milestones

There are many MHAPs in the NHS, who may hold supervisory responsibilities for junior staff, have required education & can have legal accountability for their practice but we feel are deemed unqualified ''Assistants'. We think AP's should be regulated professionals & recognised.

MHAP's must comply with national occupational standards, legislation, and have to complete continuous professional development, enhanced DBS, can be legally accountable for their practice. MHAPs may make clinical decisions and hold patient caseloads. We think making MHAPs a regulated profession could reduce wait times, save NHS money, improve patient safety, save lives, improve equality, diversity & inclusion, improve retention, help SAVE THE NHS.
