Milestones

Create a special envoy for home educating families, who would be a mediator between Government, officials and the Home Education Community, and suggest amendments to the Children’s Wellbeing & Schools Bill. This special envoy should include home educating parents.

We think this would benefit home educated children who we want to achieve their best potential. We think Part 2, Sections 25 - 30 of the Children’s Wellbeing & Schools Bill is not fit for purpose in its present state and should be amended because we think it: - is poorly researched, lacks understanding of home education, may put additional children at risk, especially those from families who have experienced Domestic Violence or Child Abuse. - is ambiguous, lacks straightforwardness and simplicity which may lend it easily to misuse of power. - undermines children's rights as protected in UNCRC.
