Now Britain no longer has an Empire, we think we should gift the Chagos Islands to the USA. They already use the naval base there but we think they could potentially then also build a space-port for sending rockets to Mars. The islands are close to the Equator.
The United States is our closest ally and we already share intelligence and cooperate on defence and much else. We believe space exploration is going to be very important this century and beyond. Working with America and perhaps sharing access to a new space port, we could participate in these developments. We believe this would benefit British and American industry. It could also create jobs in the Chagos Islands. We believe it would be a win-win situation all round.
