Ghost jobs are advertisements for positions that are not currently open or that the company has no intention of filling. We think that ghost jobs create stress, waste time, increase unemployment benefit costs, give a false indication of the job market and artificially inflate companies market value.

We want legislation to establish clear criteria for job adverts, requiring companies to verify vacancies. We also want penalties for companies that knowingly mislead job-seekers through deceptive job postings. Additionally, we request that the government create a regulatory body or framework to monitor compliance and investigate complaints about ghost jobs.
