Milestones

We urge the Government to require councils to ensure that no one is in temporary accommodation for more than 4 years. We believe that if councils refuse to comply, the Government must enforce punitive measures against them.

We feel the housing system is failing citizens and straining public purse. We believe the housing system is ineffective and that many people are staying in temporary accommodation with awful conditions. We believe people have a right to private life, in line with the Human Rights Act, but that the current temporary accommodation system is not adhering to this principle.
