Milestones

I urge the government to make mandatory neurodivergent training a requirement for all family law professionals. This training should focus on understanding neurodivergence, recognising abuse in neurodivergent survivors, & providing tailored support to ensure fair and just treatment in family courts.

We believe the unique needs of neurodivergent individuals, especially survivors of domestic abuse, are not currently well understood by professionals in the family law system. This training could help to: Improve understanding of neurodivergent conditions (such as ASD & ADHD) & their impact. Recognise signs of abuse in neurodivergent individuals. Provide appropriate communication strategies & reasonable accommodations. Ensure that neurodivergent survivors receive fair treatment and have access to justice.
