Private parking firms oversee car parks at public sites, including healthcare facilities and local community spaces. Despite managing areas which we believe are integral to public life and may operate through agreements with public bodies, they are not currently subject to transparency standards.

We urge the Government to ensure fair treatment for all motorists by ensuring: - All private parking firms operating on publicly accessible land to be subject to FOIA, allowing the public to request key information about their practices. - Greater transparency regarding the financial and operational practices of these companies. - Clear, fair rules for parking enforcement, with reasonable fines and an accessible appeals process. - Stronger regulatory oversight to prevent predatory practices and ensure motorists are treated justly.
