Milestones

Formalise the VRR schemes in legislation and set out that victims of domestic abuse have a timeframe of 24 months to make an application.

We think this would provide survivors with a crucial legal safeguard, empowering them to seek a review of police and CPS decisions within 2 years, ensuring that cases are thoroughly examined before dismissed. Domestic abuse cases are often complex, involving coercive control and psychological harm that may not be fully understood. We think this could ensure victims would have a greater chance of achieving justice.
