We want the Government to repeal the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023. We think that by attempting to regulate human behaviour according to subjective norms, positive, natural human interaction and individual agency may be impacted.

The Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023, requires employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. We believe this can result in ambiguous corporate policies, with a focus on offence-taking, rather than objective complaints. We argue that this potential ambiguity could leave the system open to abuse. We think it is simply not possible to prevent such behaviour without legislation that could also oppress the innocent.
