Milestones

We urge the Government to create a separate position for a Minister of State for Critical Minerals within the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to ensure the UK maintains a secure, sustainable and resilient supply of critical minerals to aid and accelerate decarbonisation.

Critical Minerals are building blocks to Net Zero technology and infrastructure. We believe the Government must ensure we have a secure, sustainable and resilient supply of critical minerals to aid and accelerate our transition to net zero, and a more circular economy. We believe we need to proactively diversify supply away from monopolies, which we think may run the risk of single point of failure. We believe we need to explore options in our race to net zero.
