Currently, if 3 friends want to rent a home together, a dwelling needs to be an HMO. In an age where some rents have risen nearly 50% in just 4 years, this rule seems outdated and may be preventing a lot of people sharing a house to ease the cost of living.
We believe that exempting properties from HMO rules when there are three unrelated people living together would allow friends to rent together without the need for the landlord to abide by HMO rules which could increases rent prices.
