Milestones

We urge the Government to review the national curriculum taught in primary schools to ensure Year 6 students are prepared for the transition to secondary school.

This includes exam preparation, introducing transition programs, providing teacher training, and improving communication between primary and secondary schools Without proper primary education, children may struggle with the increased difficulty in Maths and English leading to them falling behind. Reviewing the primary national curriculum could ensure equal opportunities, addressing the achievement gap, for all children. As education evolves, the curriculum must adapt to prepare students for complex exams. Proper preparation reduces stress, fosters engagement, and supports long-term academic success and development.
