We call on the UK Government to invest in eco-innovative housing: sustainable communities with indoor gardens, clean energy, and nature integration. A portion of housing funds should support green estates that reduce emissions and restore the environment.
Over £2 billion has been allocated to affordable housing, plus £800 million via the Affordable Homes Programme. However, none of these funds focus specifically on eco housing. We ask for a dedicated green housing fund, grants for sustainable designs, and support for developers creating eco estates with features like edible gardens, renewable energy, rainwater systems, and rewilding efforts. We believe this investment could help future-proof communities and contribute to climate resilience.
