Make it a requirement for productions to provide scheduled time slots for ‘open calls’ before they run.
We want this due to the over saturation of the performing arts industry. In our view, open calls are often incredibly busy and turning up many hours before doors open is seen as the norm and expected. But we think there are better, more efficient and more safe ways to conduct open calls. Despite this, companies still allow hours of waiting. We think this is inaccessible and unnecessary and there needs to be accountability for the emotional and physical welfare of performers
