Milestones

We call on the Government to fund the creation of an independent financial broadcasting service which would be separate from political control and would transparently broadcast information about how public money is collected and spent across all government departments and sectors.

The service should produce clear, accessible media for the public, including online dashboards, explainers, and regular financial breakdowns. We believe it could help counter misinformation, increase public understanding of tax and spending, and build trust in government. To ensure full neutrality, the service would need to operate independently of ministers or civil servants, with oversight from a board of non-partisan experts in economics, journalism, and civic education.
