Milestones

We urge the Government to update guidance on school uniforms in England, so that it prioritises comfort and addresses: breathable fabrics, flexible designs, and seasonal options. We believe comfortable uniforms help students focus, feel confident, and learn better in school.

We want the Government to ensure school uniforms are comfortable and inclusive for all learners, including neurodivergent students who may struggle with restrictive fabrics or seams. We think current uniforms can affect focus and wellbeing. We propose updating the guidance to allow more flexible options, like PE kit-style clothing, made from breathable materials and branded with school logos to maintain identity. We believe this could support comfort, inclusivity, and confidence, helping all students engage better in their learning.
