Milestones—
We urge the Government to pass a law which protects self-employed individuals in the security sector from exploitation by larger firms who may withhold payments unfairly, possibly knowing self-employed individuals lack the legal and financial means to pursue lengthy court proceedings.
We want this law to: - Establish statutory protections and rights to secure payment and enable action in defence of life; - Investigate possibly coercive practices within the private security industry; - Create a public registry or ombudsman to oversee complaints and uphold professional standards in the sector.
