Review the rule that skilled workers can only work a maximum of 20 extra hours out of their sponsored employment. Most skilled migrants aim to maximize their earnings to support their families, but their sponsors may be unable to provide additional work beyond the contracted hours.
We think allowing skilled worker visa holders the same flexibility to work multiple jobs and longer hours as British citizens and settled workers would promote equality and fairness in the workforce. We think allowing skilled workers to take on more hours would help address acute labor shortages in sectors like healthcare, IT, and logistics
