Milestones

Amend the Recall of MPs Act to trigger a recall petition for any MP banned from the Parliamentary estate and inactive for 60 days without in-person voting or participation in debates, questions, or committees, ensuring constituents can call a by-election.

MPs excluded from the estate cannot perform all duties, which we believe leaves constituents unrepresented. We think including this provision would ensure that those unable to attend in person and inactive for two months can be recalled. We believe this helps to maintain democratic accountability and trust, and helps protect constituents' rights to effective representation.
