I think individuals wanting to tidy up abandoned or overgrown graves on local authority owned sites should be allowed to do so and then claim the cost of their labour and planting materials by providing receipts.
I believe there are too many graves that are either overgrown or left to waste, either through neglect or simply where the deceased has been long-forgotten. I think there should be a scheme whereby individuals should be able to buy planting materials such as shovels, plants, and bulbs and claim these expenses along with a suggested fixed labour fee set by the government. I think this could really help tidy up cemeteries and churches.
