Milestones—
We want the Government to introduce free bus travel for all young people aged 22 and under, and to increase the rail discount available to this age group. We do not think that the £3 cap on bus fare cap is enough. We think it prices out many young people.
Young people shouldn’t be priced out of getting to school, work, or seeing their friends. Right now, we feel that rising travel costs are hitting young people the hardest, especially in rural areas and low-income households. Access to public transport is essential for education, opportunity, and independence.
