Launch a public inquiry into long-term missing children, investigating patterns, causes, and institutional gaps, and create a new coordinated national strategy to prevent further disappearances and improve recovery.
The latest annual data from the UK Missing Persons Unit, for 2022/23, shows at least 1,500 children in the UK were recorded as long-term missing. We believe these are not isolated cases but a systemic failure and that unlike more high-profile cases, most receive no attention. We need truth, accountability, and action — now.
