I urge the Government to reform birth registration laws to protect every child’s right to know their biological and legal parents. Require both biological parents to be named, recognise intended parents in surrogacy, enable MORE record amendments.
We think knowing biological parents is vital for medical history and self-identity. I grew up with absent parents but needed to know my origins. Current birth laws may exclude fathers if they refuse involvement or in surrogacy. Intended parents, especially same-sex couples, may face legal uncertainty without such birth recognition.
