Milestones

We call on the UK Government to certify and remove VAT from bee-friendly plants and seeds.

Pollinators are in crisis — with some studies warning of up to 50% species loss by 2050. In the UK, pollinator populations continue to decline due to pesticide use, habitat loss, and climate change. We think many citizens want to help, but barriers remain. We believe that removing VAT from nectar- and pollen-rich plants would: • Encourage people to grow pollinator-friendly gardens • Support the UK’s Healthy Bees Plan 2030 • Align taxation with sustainability goals • Empower households and communities to act We think this small fiscal adjustment could lead to meaningful change for biodiversity, public engagement, and food security. Please support a 0% VAT rate for bee-friendly plants.
