In May, the World Food Programme said that 470,000 people in Gaza were facing catastrophic hunger. The blockade needs lifting so food and water can reach Gaza.

The joint statement of countries on 21 July has not changed Israel's approach. We believe the only option left when diplomacy fails is sanctions.
