I think that the purchase of knives should require background checks. I feel this is essential in tackling the issue of knife crime
I believe that bringing in background checks could not only help monitor who has access to knives on a broad scale but also help to deter those wanting to buy a knife for an evil purpose. I also think knowing where these knives would be stored at home could be part of the checks, to ensure that young children/teenagers don’t have easy access to them. The aim of this idea is to help stop knife crime, to target one of the possible reasons why it happens so frequently - the easy access.
