Milestones

There have been many incidents of airports and airlines delivering substandard access and assistance to disabled passengers. These were highlighted in evidence to the Aviation Accessibility task and finish group who have made recommendations to rectify and prevent such issues.

We think this Government should legislate that the recommendations in the report are implemented. We call on this Government to ensure that these recommendations are fully funded. We also call on this Government to work with their counterparts globally to help ensure all airlines comply to the standards recommended. We think failure to fully funded implementation of the report would be a missed opportunity to improve aviation accessibility for disabled travellers and continue substandard access provision.
