Milestones

There’s currently no cross-government body leading SEND reform. We think we need urgent action that brings education, health, families and professionals together, protects legal rights, and embeds joined-up leadership from day one to stop children falling through the cracks.

We think that you can’t fix SEND by splitting health from education. Right now, there’s no national taskforce connecting the dots between schools, health services, and families. As major reforms move ahead at speed, we think families are being left out, and there are no clear guarantees that vital legal protections will remain in place. We’re calling for a national SEND, Health and Education Taskforce that brings departments together, centres lived experience, and ensures no child is lost between systems that were never meant to work alone.
