We ask the Government to require all English domiciliary carers to undergo mandatory registration, enhanced DBS checks & minimum training requirements. English private carers are not currently required to register with a regulatory body, undergo enhanced DBS checks or meet minimum training standards

We ask the Government to require all domiciliary carers outside agency settings to be registered under a national registration scheme, have enhanced DBS checks, be required to have minimum qualification requirements, and be legally and officially suspended or barred from being a carer if convicted of theft, abuse, or misconduct. We believe these reforms are needed to protect vulnerable people receiving care in their own homes.
