Milestones—
We want the Government to put more funding into the Met Office, with the primary goal of improving our weather radar infrastructure as we think it is very behind in terms of the technology and accessibility of their data to the public.
The UK faces frequent severe weather, yet we think our radar network is outdated and limited. We think upgrading it for better range, resolution, and products would help improve forecasts and warnings, protecting lives and property. Raw radar data should also be freely available to the public and independent weather researchers. We think this would help ensure vital weather information is more open and transparent.
