We want the Government to provide funding to subsidise free or significantly more affordable school uniforms for all school children to help families. We believe no child should be excluded or disadvantaged from education as their family can’t afford compulsory uniform.
School uniforms are a compulsory cost for many families, yet many struggle to afford them, particularly during the cost-of-living crisis. We believe children should not face stigma, exclusion or disadvantage because their parents cannot meet these costs. As attendance at school is a legal requirement, we believe Government support is needed to ensure all pupils have equal access to education, free from financial barriers.
