I’m calling on the government to close the DBS loophole by ensuring civil harassment orders, such as court-issued undertakings, are disclosed on Enhanced DBS checks to better protect children and vulnerable people from individuals under legal restrictions.

I’m calling on the government to reform the DBS system so that civil harassment outcomes, such as legally binding court undertakings, are disclosed on Enhanced DBS checks. Currently, individuals who have been subject to serious civil restrictions due to repeated harassment can still pass a DBS check and work with children or vulnerable people. I believe this loophole poses a safeguarding risk and must be urgently closed to better protect the public.
