I am writing to urge the government to introduce a free bus pass for all under 16s in England. I think this would tackle child poverty, boost education access, encourage independence, support the environment and improve safety.
While I understand that there is a significant initial cost to this policy, I believe the long-term benefits outweigh the expense. The potential savings from reduced healthcare costs (due to cleaner air), less road maintenance, and a more productive workforce should be taken into account. I urge the government to view this as a strategic investment in the future of our society.
