Milestones

Some manufacturers have developed headlamps that automatically change the shape of the light beam to avoid dazzling other road users. We want this technology to become a mandatory part of vehicle regulations, included in the MOT test.

Light Emitting Diode headlamps have become common on road vehicles. LED lamps have the advantage of longer life than incandescent types, but can cause serious problems with dazzle. This is a potential road safety concern for all road users. Adaptive LED headlamps can be superior to manual or automatic dipped beam, if designed and calibrated correctly.
