Milestones

Create a dedicated mobility scheme for Ukrainian researchers: fast-track, fee-free visas including dependants; the right to work in UK universities and labs; relocation grants and bridging fellowships; recognition of qualifications; coordination with UKRI to match skills to posts; extension routes.

War has halted the work of thousands of Ukrainian researchers. Giving them a safe, fast route to UK labs protects lives and knowledge, lets careers continue and preserves collaborations with students at home. We believe a mobility scheme shows tangible solidarity, aligns with allied EU/US programmes and keeps the UK open, humane and scientifically strong. It may also deter brain drain to hostile states, support NHS innovation, help rebuild Ukraine's research system after victory, and boost UK industry R&D.
